Designed with precision, the H finned tube heat exchanger is arranged in a straight line, with H fins segmenting the space into multiple small areas, effectively equalizing air flow. Unlike the staggered smooth tube heat exchanger and spiral finned counterparts, the wear life of this configuration boasts a durability 3 to 4 times greater under similar conditions.
(2) Reduced fouling potential
Fouling generally occurs on the dorsal and windward sides of the tube. With a staggered tube arrangement, the bundle is easily flushed, minimizing back-side fouling. The design inherently supports self-cleaning at optimal wind speeds. Straight channels formed on both sides of the H finned tube facilitate efficient soot removal, especially when employing soot blowers.
