L-Foot Fin / Wrap-On Fin

L-Foot Tension Wound Finned Tubes also referred to as Wrap-On Finned Tubes, are ideal for applications where temperatures remain below 300 degrees Fahrenheit, providing necessary tube wall protection at low temperatures. Crafted from a thin aluminium fin strip, L-Foot tension wound finned tubes are helically wrapped around the tube, ensuring a snug and efficient fit. A distinctive 'foot' is initially shaped on one side of the fin strip, giving rise to the name L-Foot. The strip is meticulously wound around the tube, with the foot providing strong contact with the tube's outer surface. Each L's short horizontal limb maintains contact with the base-tube surface, offering complete coverage. The tension in the fin strip during wrapping ensures the fin foot is firmly seated on the tube, securing the fin's position. L-footed finned tubing delivers unparalleled heat transfer efficiency at lower temperatures, optimizing energy use. The L-shaped configuration securely fastens the fins, effectively resisting heat cycling and high-speed air vibrations. KL Footed Fin / Knurled L Footed Fin

The KL fin is alternatively known as the knurled L fin. This finned tube is strikingly similar to the Wrap-On fin, crafted using both Wrap-On and Embedded techniques for superior performance. The fins are meticulously made from strips prepared into an L shape, then intricately rolled into a taper, enabling them to curl with precision. It is then helically wound onto the tube in a seamless continuous loop under tension. The tube is securely embraced by the fin for maximum efficiency. A spinning tool expertly knurls the base tube, allowing the foot of the fin to integrate into the knurling of the base tube, ensuring a tight bond and enhanced thermal performance.
 
When the appropriate fin strip is used, the foot of one fin aligns perfectly with the next, eliminating any space between the fins. This configuration helps shield the tube from potential corrosion. Similar to L fins, they are attached at each end to prevent unwinding, ensuring stability. In metal-involving applications, KL -Foot tension wound finned tubes are predominantly employed for their superior performance.
