The H-finned tube heat exchanger features an in-line arrangement, where the H fins divide the space into smaller sections, effectively equalizing airflow. Compared to smooth tube heat exchangers with a staggered setup or spiral finned counterparts under similar conditions, its wear life is 3 to 4 times longer.
(2) Minimized Fouling
Fouling typically forms on the dorsal and windward sides of the tube. With a staggered tube arrangement, the tube bundle is easily flushed, resulting in less fouling on the backside.
