L-Foot Fin / Wrap-On Fin

L-Foot Tension Wound Finned Tubes also known as Wrap-On Finned Tubes, are ideally suited for applications where temperatures remain below 300 degrees Fahrenheit, providing necessary protection for low-temperature environments. Our L-Foot tension wound finned tubes consist of a delicately thin aluminum fin strip, expertly wound helically around the tube circumference for optimal performance. A distinctive 'foot' is formed on one side of the fin strip, giving the L-Foot its name and ensuring a secure fit. The strip is securely wound around the tube, with the foot making firm contact with the tube's outer surface. Each L's short horizontal limb fully contacts and covers the base-tube surface, ensuring comprehensive coverage. The fin strip's tension during wrapping enhances the forceful seating of the fin foot, ensuring it remains securely in place. L-footed finned tubing excels in maximizing heat transfer at lower temperatures. The unique L-shaped design ensures rigidity, easily withstanding heat cycling and high-velocity air vibration. This fin design offers substantial atmospheric protection for the tube wall against corrosion. The wide contact surface between the tube and finning significantly boosts heat transfer efficiency. KL Footed Fin / Knurled L Footed Fin

The KL fin is popularly recognized as the knurled L fin. This innovative finned tube closely resembles the Wrap-On fin, crafted using a combination of both Wrap-On and Embedded techniques for optimal performance. Fins are expertly crafted from strips shaped into an L configuration, akin to L type, then meticulously rolled into a taper inducing a curl. They are subsequently helically wound onto the tube in a continuous loop under tension, ensuring stability. The fin securely embraces the tube. A spinning tool artfully knurls the base tube, allowing the fin's foot to integrate seamlessly into the base tube's knurling, resulting in a robust bond and enhanced thermal efficiency.
 
When the correct fin strip is employed, each fin interlocks with the next, leaving no gaps and providing comprehensive protection against corrosion. This design significantly enhances the tube's resistance to corrosion. Similar to L fins, these fins are securely fixed at each end to prevent any unwinding, ensuring long-term durability. KL -Foot tension wound finned tubes are commonly utilized in metal-related applications due to their superior performance. The fin clasps the tube tightly, with each fin overlapping the foot of the subsequent fin, providing comprehensive coverage. This design provides excellent protection from corrosion, safeguarding the tube's integrity. In corrosive environments, this type of tube is frequently chosen as a cost-effective alternative to the more expensive extruded type fin.
