L-Foot Finned Tube

L-Foot Fin / Wrap-On Fin

L-Foot Tension Wound Finned Tubes also referred to as Wrap-On Finned Tubes, are ideal for applications with temperatures below 300 degrees Fahrenheit where tube wall protection is crucial. These tubes consist of a thin aluminium fin strip wound helically and tightly around the tube's circumference. Its 'foot' is initially formed on one side of the fin strip, giving rise to the name L-Foot. The strip is then wound tightly around the tube, with the foot ensuring maximum surface contact with the tube's outer surface. Each L's short horizontal limb maintains complete contact with the base-tube surface, ensuring full coverage. The tension in the fin strip during wrapping ensures the fin foot is firmly seated and held in place. Designed for superior heat transfer, the L-footed finned tubing excels at lower temperatures. Its innovative L-shaped design secures fins to endure heat cycling and high-velocity air vibrations. This fin formation provides atmospheric protection for the tube wall against potential corrosion.
