L-Foot Fin / Wrap-On Fin

L-Foot Tension Wound Finned Tubes also known as Wrap-On Finned Tubes, are ideal for applications with temperatures up to 300 degrees Fahrenheit, providing essential tube wall protection. These tubes feature a thin aluminium fin strip helically wound around the tube circumference with precision and care. A 'foot' is first crafted on one side of the fin strip, giving rise to the moniker L-Foot. Subsequently, the strip is tightly wound around the tube, with the foot firmly seated on the tube's outer surface. The short horizontal limb of each L ensures complete coverage of the base-tube surface. Tension in the fin strip as it envelops the tube ensures the fin foot's secure seating and firm retention. L-footed finned tubing excels in maximizing heat transfer at lower temperatures. The unique L-shaped design steadfastly holds fins, combatting heat cycling and high air velocity vibrations. This design offers a degree of atmospheric protection for the tube wall, shielding it against corrosion.
