L-Foot Tension Wound Finned Tubes commonly referred to as Wrap-On Finned Tubes, are ideal for applications with temperatures not exceeding 300°F, providing essential tube wall protection at lower temperatures. These tubes feature a finely wound thin aluminium fin strip that envelops the tube circumference with precision. A distinct 'foot' is crafted on one side of the fin strip, origin of the term L-Foot. The strip is wound meticulously, ensuring the foot remains in firm contact with the tube's outer surface. Each L's short horizontal limb maintains complete contact with the base-tube surface, enhancing heat transfer. The tension applied during the winding process ensures the fin foot is seated firmly on the tube, retaining its optimal position. Crafted from L-shaped strips, rolled into a taper for a distinctive curl, mirroring the L type. Helically wound onto the tube, maintaining a continuous loop under tension for enhanced stability. The fin closely embraces the tube with precision. A spinning tool knurls the base tube, allowing the foot of the fin to integrate tightly into the tube's knurling, enhancing the thermal bond.
