Compared to smooth tube heat exchangers with staggered arrangements and spiral finned heat exchangers, under identical conditions, the wear life is remarkably elevated, reaching 3 to 4 times higher.

Fouling typically forms on the dorsal and windward sides of the tube. With a staggered tube arrangement, the tube bundle is effortlessly flushed, significantly reducing fouling on the back side.
