L-Foot Fin / Wrap-On Fin

L-Foot Tension Wound Finned Tubes also known as Wrap-On Finned Tubes, are ideal for applications not exceeding 300 degrees Fahrenheit, providing essential tube wall protection in low-temperature environments. These tubes feature a slender aluminium fin strip, precisely helically wound around the tube circumference for optimal thermal performance. A 'foot' is initially formed on one side of the fin strip, giving rise to the name L-Foot. The strip is then wound tightly with the foot firmly bearing on the tube's outer surface, ensuring a secure fit. The short horizontal limb of each L ensures complete contact with the base-tube surface, enhancing thermal efficiency. Tension in the fin strip as it is wrapped ensures the fin foot seats forcefully on the tube, maintaining stability and performance. The L-footed finned tubing stands out for its maximum heat transfer capabilities at lower temperatures. The unique L-shaped design guarantees fins remain rigid and durable, withstanding harsh heat cycling and high-velocity air vibrations with ease.
